Word Art!

Hello! Our current project is WORD ART! Word Art is where you use your word to make it. Its kinda hard to explain. EG: 'Glass' could be a glass and the cracks on it read 'glass'. Below is an example of what we're meant to do in class.
This piece of art is meant to spell love... or dove. Pretty sure it's love though.

I am almost done with my word art! Apparently almost doesnt count. Mine is meant to say LEAF, so Im using : (of corse) leaves and trees. Tomorrow is the last day I  get to work on it. Its also gonna be the last Design Art class. Im gonna have Vocal & Tech and Robots next semster... bleh.

ISkins! :|

Well! I have finally finished my ISkin! Yesh! My ISkin was the funky/personal, an octopus holding some kind of bue magic ball. Our asssignment was to create an iskin which either used nature, pattern, funky/personal, animal skins, and something I cant remember.

Here are the steps in order to make an ISkin like we did in class:
1. Choose a design out of the ones you've already sketched.
2. Start the final product by drawing your chosen design (way bigger!) on a bigger piece of paper, preferably with the shape of the electronic you're gonna use.
3. After done with the sketching, start coloring.
4. Cut your shape out.
5. Start your tag-line writing.
6. Color your tag-line.
7. Cut your tag-line out.
8. Get your choice of colored paper.
9. Stick your electronic and tag-line on the way you want it.

TADAAAA!

A skill I (not necesarily learnt, but used in the making of the final product was, well, patience, commitment, enthusiasm. I think thats pretty much it.

I am pretty happy with my ISkin. If I got the chance to do it again, I would definetly work faster (I was trying though!), talk less and plan my colors better (as in check which color we do have in order to use matching colors when coloring).

My favorite part in the making of the ISkin is the part where you come up with different designs... Yep, that part coz we dont have to stick to something. If we dont like it we can just erase it and start a new one. It was really easy for me, the back a paper is full because Ive written different ideas down. Maybe its just because I have a big imagination...

One of the hardest parts was coming up with a tag-line!!
A tag-line is like a small sentence businesses use so that people remember them, example: Nike - Just do it. That part was hard because, well, its an octopus and lightning on an ipod. How do I connect that? Well, with help, my tagline ended up as 'ZAPTOPUS YOUR I-POD!!' which is good because the it makes the connection between my ISkin and the Ipod.

H: Harmony: how well the different design go together
U: Unity: that the designs are all together, not some of them isolated
R: Repetition: Repetition
B: Balance: that its not too overwhelming on one corner, while the other side is completely blank. In other words: equally spread out.
E: Emphasis: where you change something in your design so its practically the first place your eye goes to.

Ill post a picture of my ISkin later, I need the shared folder for that.
