| One of many confuzzling designs. |
Taddaa! The picture below is my tesselations design. Tesselations were made famous by M.C ESCHER - he used math to create them as accurate as possible-.
Before coming up with the design, I had seen Alishas other work which used fire-looking stuff and it looked pretty cool. So, I decided I would try it out! The Xs in the back are there because I was thinking about Tic Tac Toe, I dont know why.In class, I finally found out what those lightboxes were for. Once you have created your design on a folded (squares or triangles) piece of paper, you start tracing on the other sides by folding and placing on top of the lightbox.
It was pretty hard creating my tesselation mainly because of all the lines and Xs in the background. Even if you'd only messed up one of the lines or flames, you would have to restart all over again! It was very time-consuming.
During this project, I really wanted to get the tracing over with! I was the last one at the lightboxes! Although I really wanted to start coloring, I had to actually finish first!
Some of the problems I had was that some pieces of paper were different sizes! Sometimes I just had to make a flame tinsy-weensy wider so it would look like the others. My work was getting really sloppy which made me mess up even more. Sometimes, the lightbox or my work would move and I would have to spend my tracing time trying to fix it. Therefore, if I was to repeat this project, I would obviously make a simpler one, tape my papers to the lightboxes, cut the bigger pieces of paper so that they were all the same size and maybe focus on my work a bit more.
According to me, I am pretty satisfied with my work although next time, improvements included, it will be way better.
